What this means
Reading the panel
An internal static review of a pinned repository snapshot has been completed. It is an internal input to the work. It is not an independent review, and it does not certify anything.
The current software candidate is blocked from advancing. A live customer pilot is a no-go. Vallum is not ready for a customer pilot and is not generally available.
Development continues in a controlled laboratory setting. A complete rewrite is not required; the canonical architecture stands.
Production qualification has not been achieved. Until it is, no component should be described as production-ready.
Remediation
What is underway
Remediation is underway, beginning with canonical contracts and preserved assurance evidence. Canonical contracts fix the interfaces and obligations that every component must honor. Preserved assurance evidence keeps the record of what has been verified, so that qualification is cumulative rather than repeated.
Internal vulnerability details, repository findings, and severity identifiers are not published on this site.
Wording
Terms used on this site
These phrases are used deliberately and consistently.
- Under active development
- Work is ongoing. Nothing is frozen or released.
- Controlled laboratory development
- Development and testing occur in an isolated setting, not on customer systems.
- Canonical target architecture
- The agreed design that implementation must satisfy. A target, not a completed system. Labeling a component CANONICAL TARGET does not mean it is implemented.
- Implemented — evidence required
- Code exists for a component, but the evidence needed to qualify it has not been produced or preserved.
- Production qualification has not been achieved
- No component has met the bar required for production use.
Ask about the qualification path
A technical briefing covers what evidence is required for each component and how qualification is sequenced.
